People on here mentioned that there was a special provision for a a further 3 month wait for the director of immigration studies to examine it. Is that true?
Now is 90 days a normal wait time, or is there something special in this bill?

I didnt know that you can send a single check for all applications.. ??
It would have been better if you had split the checks.

I sent a single check of $745 just for my wifes app, my employer sent the $745 check for me , this included all including biometrics, why would they be crazy to receipt one app and reject another both within the same packet, for reason like 'improper filing fees', i am upset.

The first time, my husband and I were asked all kinds of questions by the secondary CIS officer at LAX, and was asked NOT to do our own copies of the original AP, that we are not supposed to do copies of official documents. He kept and use our copies anyway. The stamp in the AP extended it for a year after this entry.
Two weeks later, upon arriving again at LAX, the secondary CIS officer did not ask any questions and did not make copies of the AP. We just got another stamp on the original one extending its validity again for one year from date of entry. It went pretty fast.

If you read clearly then it says that you can keep the PD in your new employer GC process. You may loose that opportunity only if there was a fraud in the previous I140 and USICS revokes that I140.
once the alien’s Form I-140 petition has been approved, the alien beneficiary retains his or her priority date as established by the filing of the labor certification for any future Form I-140 petitions, unless the previously approved Form I-140 petition has been revoked because of fraud or willful misrepresentation.
So if your current I140 is clean then you will be able to use the PD in your next application for GC with the new employer.

When we change employer i think we can't keep the Priority date
Its been clearly stated bolded when you change employer you will lose your 1-140 PD....any thoughts or am i misreading it.

Once your Priority date of a category is current and namechecks are cleared, it is First in first out within the country quota. At that time, earlier priority dates do not matter at all. What matters is how early you applied for your I485 (date the application was physically received by the center, and not the date a notice was sent).

Hi Michael, nice shots. It's easy to see that you brought the discipline and hard work of your nature work to the studio. What was your lighting setup? Flash? strobes? How many and what positions? and how did you go about metering? They're very beautiful but just a little flat. Shadows add depth and will make the flowers pop out more. How's that for a vague concept? :) But if you have the ability to reposition the light(s) you should get some very different and interesting results. adjust to taste. shadows are good in many situations. "The AC21" is just a letter stating that you have switched employers and have a new job in the same occupation, similar wage, etc. under the AC21 law, in no specific format.
My AC21 letter which was drafted by the attorney just states the above and is addressed to the USCIS on my behalf. I am the only person that has signed it, the only attorney reference on there is for sending any correspondence.

I'd say proceed with filing 485 for now and later you can think about porting etc.
Rather try filing it yourself and save lawyer fees ($1500 per primary applicant and $2000 for primary + dependent? geez this is a special offer?)

Hi EveryOne,
I got my Green card in mail yesterday. I want to thank IV and everyone for all the support during this GC journey. I wish everyone all the best for their green card process. I wish everyone gets to file 485 irrespective of priority dates and ultimately get their green cards. This is a question to Admin, i have a recursive donation going on, I would like to make a one time donation and stop the recursive donation.

as I was not getting a corp to corp job for more than a year.I desperately need to work.now I am on a project for 3 months and it will end soon also.but this company wants to hire me full time. thats why I want to join them with EAD and when my h1b approves I will get it stamped and reenter..

With 700K predicted applications pending From July ,
Was just wondering what will be long term effects.
Imagine they process a very conservation 200K apps for EAD/AP/485 in say 6 months and issue EAD for 1 year.
Now coming July which is 6 months prior to expiry of 1st EAD.
There will be 200K applications again in june/july/aug for EAD renewal/AP renewal ?
It is like any surge in electric voltage generally blows away the device.
I am expecting something this surge will blow away their fingerprint/fbi name check/INS staff , everyone.
I think now INS wants to put these into queues of FBI/DOS and put the blame squarely on them.
Over the period of next 1 year or so, everyone who is in EB3 will migrate to EB2 as he can switch job in EAD and then process another Labor/140 without getting affected ??
What if all the background adjudication of 485 is done in 1 year and then we change from EB3 to EB2, its not going to affect the current 485 ? It will just put the file in a better category ?

I would like to make most of the form thread details be accessible to members who had paid at least $100 or enrolled for recursive $20/month. We should make the thread heading very attractive and make it accessible to public. Core members should review all the thread headings, I think they are already doing it now. I can volunteer to this activity. I do have 8 years of experience in studying US immigration law, though I am not a lawyer, with my experience I can be of some guidance.

Provide advertisement (Ad), like we see top, right side and bottom page Ad in hotmail, yahoo etc. Apart from the flash, images Ads, we should also do Google text Ads. Flash Ad could be charged based on the space, number of page hits. Google pays 25 cents per click on the hyperlink for the text Ad. I had managed a project, which implemented the feature. I am sure we have lot of technical experts and get this implemented, very well.
Corporate Sponsorship
If a corporation sponsors money then most probably there will be some tax advantage. I do know IV�s tax code. Consulting companies could pay IV from our company account.
Physicians
We can identify all our physician members and provide help for members and their parents in need. In turn the members who had taken help could contribute to IV�s good cause, in terms of funds, taking part in activities, etc. Hi the concept is very simple, if you had gone to a doctor, you will end up spending 2 hr waiting to see the doctor and then pay 150 to talk to them for 15 min. We will help you and intern you help us, or may be help yourself if you are a person going through the GC process. I can take initiative for this task, my wife is a physician and I know 20 other doctors who are in the GC process.

I recently got my 485 approved and got my card too. My wife's case is bit complicated.
I would appreciate if someone can throw light on this.
She applied her 485 in August 2007. Her 485 was seperately filed with her company since I was physically not present in US at that time in order to apply her as my dependent through my primary 485.
I applied for my 485 in Oct 2007 when I came back to US. I did not add her as dependent since she already applied for her 485.
Later in 2008 ( , my lawyer sent a letter to USCIS requesting them to link her 485 as my dependent. Now after my 485 is approved, my lawyer checked with USCIS whether her case is linked to mine. Lawyer was informed that the case is indeed linked and that her 485 will be approved anytime.
But now, my wife;s position in her company is not that good as there are layoffs happening. If God forbid she gets layed off from her current h1b status, will she be in status? can she continnue to stay in US without working?
