That's the reason I said if we at least get 1000 members then we can ask core members and get their help. members should seriously think if they can make it before they saying yes.. I think even Friday option works as member can take long weekend and spend weekend in DC. We will also get to know all IV members.

Media will be fresh on monday and people will get good E fares to fly out into DC on Saturday and fly out on Monday night/Tuesday early morning (if at all some one comes out of town). No approvals today? Whats going on???

It's definetly a shock and an usual post on these forums. I am spellbound by the support you are getting from the forum members. I am seeing the humanitarian attitude all around praying for your health. This should bring change about the way you think about your health. You are fighting against an enemy- the prognosis you got from the doctors. The only option left for you is winning against the enemy no matter what it takes. The foremost thought you should inculcate is that you are winning against the enemy. That's it. I believe the will power will definetly take you out of the fatal disease.
I know it is hard but try concentrating more on your health than other things including your family members. Hopefully generous IV members will do something for your family which probably can be done in our limits. Whereas it is you who has to fight against the disease and so you got to take care of your health first.

when american's from such third rate schools are not getting jobs, do you seriously think foreigners with their funny accents and relatively poor English communication skills (I'm Indian and can tell you its still a second language to me) can get jobs??
The market has a way of regulating itself. As someone mentioned above, there were a a lot of H1 space available from 2001-03. But it never got filled because there were simply not enough jobs. Lets not try to set up govenment intervention here....let the free market decide....that is what made this country great.

CIR will likely not be VOTED dead. There just will not be anything done about naming a Conference committee. If a committee is indeed named, but they don't produce a report in 2-3 weeks, then CIR would be deemed dead.
The bottom line is, if nothing happens by the end of July, CIR will likely be dead.
We will be looking at other options much before the end of July. The problem for us is that no other legislation will be considered before the end of July.

Once we reach the number of resources, we will have conference calls, meet in person whoever can, arrange for money, decide on lawyers ( which MadhuVJ has some very good suggestions ) and move on from there

Yeah, I know my life sucks. I have a priority date of Jan 2003. Got filed under EB3 even though did MS here... I begged and pleaded that they atleast send it on Jan 28th. For god's sake, I was qualified all the way since June 1st. I gave all the documents necessary by June 6th itself. Well, but they had to file on 29th.

I received a confirmation from the Ombudsman's office that they have received my case documents and would let me know when it get's assigned to an immigration specialist.
I have not heard back from them yet... 3 weeks and counting... How long does it take them to followup on the case?

I think one need to create database based on who came in what year and what is the priority data's . True there are people like me came in 2000 and still has priority date as Dec 2004, this is not my fault, this is forced by GC process tied with employer.
The landing or start date of H1b/L1B + old priority date should be the real beneficiary of spillover in respective of EB.
You can try, but I don't think arguing based on landing/start date will work, because that time the intent is not for immigration(I also have a 3 year delay on my GC filing, due to my company). But the priority date which is an official starting point for an intent to be an immigrant has a better chance for success. Thank you for your inputs.

I can tell you there are roughly 100,000 labor applications filed (50,000 EB3) between Aug 2003 and Dec 2003 for EB India category. The reason was everybody wanted to clear thru regular process before PERM takes over. Those Labors filed after Aug 2003 and before PERM started are moved into backlog and are fully cleary last 4 th quarter. And so 90% of those EB3s may be still there (45,000) hanging. EB2s could have been cleared substantially till Dec 2003. It is all my guess work and not sceintific or factual. it is vague and could as well be inaccurate. I know that lot of people from georgia did get their GC's in EB3 with pd ..dec 2003. I am guessing that for many states the dates are similar except for california and NY ..but then there were lot of companies that closed down ..ofcourse labor subs changed things too for the worse. also 19000 visas went to eb3 I ..last year I think. so overall numbers may not be that high till 2004 mid I guess

Finally I got the receipt notice for I485, AP, EAD. When I checked online, it seems they already ordered the EAD card.
My app received NSC on July 2nd 9:01 AM, got transfered to TSC.
