My I-485 was mailed on June 1'st. Attorney haven't received receipts yet.
But my checks to USCIS got cashed yesterday. There are two numbers starting with SRC......but I dont know why there are two numbers instead of one.

I got finger print notice on 6-16-07.
I never got receipt notice and I could not read the number in back of my check image. My attorney even did not get any receipt notice either:confused:
The finger print is scheduled for July 7th. I sent all app. to NCS on the June first and they transferred to TCS. PD of Sep 2003 and I-140 was approved 2005. I also apply for travel doc. and work permit but no receipt so far.:rolleyes:

Well, my old carcass is getting too aged to handle that anymore. So now I ease off the sauce and go to the gym.
But I do also try to notice and enjoy the silliness of the every day human condition. (Still to this day, I'm not sure why I mow my lawn, for instance.) A sense of humour is very important. Recognition that there are others less fortunate. And stay connected with friends socially.
And also recognize that fact that a green card won't make me magically happier beyond the immediate jubilation. Yes it is good to regain the rights we lost coming to the US. To speeches I'll still smile, nod, even clap and think "what a bunch of nonsense!" for privacy is the true freedom that you still have. But I'll still work for a living. I'll still put on a dress shirt to impress clients I'll never see. I'll still try to spend more time creating than managing. Not simply because my h1b legally requires me to do so, but because managing is intellectually trivial. Or one could say that managing is the work of man, creation is the work of the gods. ; )

Just like to correct you here my friend - Its incorrect to suggest that a house is a bad investment in the US. On the other hand, why treat it as an investment like so many foolish real estate speculators out there. Think of it as a place to live and be part of the American Dream. If not for this dream, many of us would have packed up and gone home back to our own countries.

Like many others on these forums, I have given up significant opportunities because I believed mistakenly that the GC mess would be cleared up in 2-3 years. Sometimes that does lead to extreme frustration - My wife often jokes that when I do actually receive my GC, I will have lost a very convenient excuse that the lack of one is holding me back. :-)
To those who are starting down this path, I have this piece of unsolicited advice. If you feel that you are depressed and this is affecting your health and/or your family, it may be best to move on - the world is a big place, full of opportunity; opportunities that cannot be quantified by an O*NET job code. Enjoy everyday while you can - you only live once.

On July 25th lawyer sent my documents 140 & 485 concurrent, PD port from previous I-140 approval (approved at Nebraska).
Reached Nebraska Service Centre on July 26th.
Will it be processed at Nebraska Service centre or Texas Service centre? According to new direct filing instructions my employer and my residence comes under Texas Service centre.
